Nothing But Nets

Bethel Kids 4 Christ is participating in Nothing But Nets, a campaign to help fight malaria. Millions of people die each year from malaria - but there's a simple, life-saving solution, and all it takes is $10 to buy a bed net, distribute it to a family, and explain its use.

Your donation will be matched in full by a generous grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Join us in raising funds for nets:

Thank you!

Letter to Parents

Dear K4C Parents:

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve your children through Kids 4 Christ. It is our goal to help them realize the love and selflessness of Christ by teaching them to do what Jesus would do.

Our Kick-Off Party last week was awesome. We will continue to meet on Wednesday nights at the youth building behind the church on Racetrack Road. Our meeting time will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and our regular schedule will be as follows:

Lesson 6:00-6:30
Project 6:30-7:15
Games 7:15-7:45
Snack 7:45-8:00

Dinner is available from 5:15 – 6:00 in the fellowship hall as a part of our regular Wednesday night program. A $5 donation is appreciated for individuals or a $12 donation for the entire family. The menu varies weekly.

We will not meet on the 3rd Wednesday night of each month. This is our church-wide Family Night. We have a covered dish meal at 7:00 pm and we would like to invite you to join us.

We will be participating in several service projects throughout the year. Last year we made Thank You cards for Veterans and Military personnel and Valentine's Day cards for the residents at Willowbrook. Our bigger projects were a Help the Homeless mission where we collected can goods for "To Go" Bags that we distributed at the LAD Soup Kitchen and the "Witness Basket" mission where we provided Biblically based story books, coloring books and games to medical waiting rooms, Haven Hospice, and prison visiting parks.

Currently, we are starting a new project to raise money and awareness for Project Buzzkill. There is more information in the pamphlet your child is bringing home tonight. On October 16th we will volunteer at the Empty Bowls project being held at Lake City Community College and in December we will sponsor an Angel Tree.

Kids will also have the opportunity to earn prizes through our Bible Buck program. They received a flyer with that information tonight as well. This is a way for us to reward them and encourage them “to do the right thing”. This program is also part of our Children’s Church which is held in conjunction with our 11:00 am Worship Service on Sunday mornings.

We are so excited about working with you and your children and are looking forward to seeing them (and you) again next week!

Your friends at K4C,
Miss Amy, Miss Dawn & Miss Lynn

Kick-Off Party - HUGE Success!

The first Annual K4C Kick-Off Party was a huge success! We had a great group of kids, 19 of them! They won all kinds of prizes. Eddie took home the DVD player - Congratulations Eddie!

We were in our new building and it is awesome. We started with a matching game. Kids were given half of a game piece and had to find the person that had the other half. We also played Bible Bingo. You right the Books of the Bible in the bingo squares and the caller draws the names out of a cup. Zoey and Tatum performed a song they learned in Children's Church with all the books in the Old Testament.

We learned about the latest K4C Mission: Project Buzzkill. We are going to raise awareness about Malaria in Africa. We will also raise money to send bed nets to help protect children from mosquitos which spread Malaria. 3000 kids a day die from Malaria and it only costs $10 to protect a whole family with a bed net. We made collection jars with net over them to collect spare change at home.

Next week we will learn more about the nets and how they work. We will talk about how to raise money and awareness. And Miss Dawn is planning a cool game.

Hope to see you all there!
